In their opening game of the ACC Men's Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023, India A faced United Arab Emirates A and emerged victorious by eight wickets. Led by captain Yash Dhull's brilliant century and Harshit Rana's four-wicket haul, the Indian team put up a comprehensive performance.

After winning the toss, India A invited UAE A to bat. Only Aryansh Sharma, Valthapa Chidambaram, and Mohammed Farazuddin showed resistance, scoring 38, 46, and 35 runs respectively. Despite facing a formidable Indian bowling attack, they displayed composure and ensured their team batted for the full 50 overs. UAE managed to post 175 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Harshit Rana was the standout bowler for India A, claiming impressive figures of 4/41 in his nine overs. Nitish Reddy and Manav Suthar also contributed with two wickets each. Riyan Parag was economical but unlucky not to take a wicket, ending with figures of 0/22 in eight overs.

In the chase, India A was expected to reach the target comfortably. However, UAE struck early, dismissing Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma cheaply, leaving India at 41/2. Nikin Jose then partnered with skipper Yash Dhull to rebuild the innings. Dhull played aggressively, scoring an unbeaten 108 runs off just 84 deliveries, including 20 fours and a six. Jose provided valuable support, contributing 41 runs off 53 balls with five fours. India A reached the target in the 27th over with eight wickets in hand.

In their next game, India A will face Nepal on July 17, followed by their marquee match against Pakistan on July 19.
