Record: Kohli became man of the match for India 63 times, the only player to win this award 10+ times in every format

The fourth match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia was a draw. Team India named this series 2-1. In the fourth match played in Ahmedabad, Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century. He played a brilliant inning of 186 runs in 364 balls. In Tests, Kohli scored a century ending a drought of 1205 days. Earlier, he had scored a century in Test in November 2019. Due to this century, Kohli had made many records in his name.

Kohli has won the Player of the Match award for the first time in the Test against Australia. Apart from this, he has won this award three times in this format against England, twice against South Africa and Sri Lanka and once against New Zealand and Bangladesh. Kohli has won this award 38 times in ODIs and maximum 15 times in T20s. In ODIs, Kohli has been player of the match 13 times against West Indies and seven times against Sri Lanka.

Out of 15 times in T20, he has won this award four times against Pakistan. Also won this honor three times against Australia. Kohli has also been player of the match twice in ODIs against Pakistan. In this way, he has won this award a total of six times against Pakistan. Kohli has won this honor for the first time against Australia in Tests. In this format, he has scored eight centuries against the Kangaroos.

Former South African cricketer Jacques Kallis holds the record for most Player of the Match awards in Tests. He won this award 23 times. After this Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan 19 and Pakistan's former cricketer Wasim Akram and Australia's Shane Warne are at number two with winning this award 17-17 times. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for winning the Player of the Match award for the most number of times in ODIs. Sachin has won the Player of the Match award 62 times in 463 ODIs in the 50-over format. Former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya is at number two. He won this award 48 times in 445 ODIs.

Virat Kohli is in third place with 38 Player of the Match awards in 271 ODIs. Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting have won the honor 32 times each and are joint fourth. No one has won this honor more than Kohli in T20 cricket. Kohli has been player of the match 15 times in T20 International. At the same time, Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan is second with winning this award 13 times and Rohit Sharma is third with winning this award 12 times. Suryakumar Yadav has won this award 11 times so far in his one and a half year T20 career.
