Pakistan cricket has been in the news for quite some time now for all the wrong reasons. Last year, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Rameez Raja was forcefully removed from his post and Najam Sethi became the new PCB chairman. It was believed that Najam Sethi would take his country to new heights in cricket, but from the situation that has developed in the last few days, it seems that Pakistan cricket is going in another direction. Many former cricketers have questioned the decisions of PCB. Now former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has also joined this list. He has described PCB as dead and said that now Pakistan team can live in peace.
Actually, this statement of Latif came after the decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board in which Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi have been rested for the T20 series against Afghanistan and Shadab Khan has been made the captain. Latif has targeted the board for leaving Babar and Shaheen out of the team for the T20 series. He said- Our players are included in the ICC rankings and are winning awards after a long time. Babar and Shaheen won ICC awards.

Latif said- They (PCB) could not digest it. We will not let this happen and now we are here and will take a decision, he said. Those who never rested and turned 70 or 80 and now when they need rest, they are deciding the fate of Pakistan cricket. You can say that Pakistan team can now rest in peace. Our team can now rest easy.
Latif said- When you bring in new players, you break a team combination. Some of the new players who have been selected for the Afghanistan series, if they perform in that series, So will they allow senior players with low strike rates to come back. The media will also put pressure on them. This is the first step towards destroying the Pakistan team. After the announcement of the team, Najam Sethi had said – I would like to congratulate Shadab Khan on his appointment as the captain of the Pakistan team for the series against Afghanistan. Shadab has been the vice-captain of the Pakistan team in white-ball cricket for some time now. It is logical that he will lead the team in the absence of Babar Azam for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah.

Najam Sethi had said- We have also appointed Mohammad Yusuf as the interim head coach and batting coach for the Sharjah tour. Yousuf has been with the national team since last year as the batting coach and is also working at the National High Performance Centre.
Pakistan squad: Shadab Khan (c), Abdullah Shafiq, Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihsanullah, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Haris (wk), Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shan Masood, Tayyab Tahir Zaman Khan.
