After securing a victory against Scotland, Australia now has eight points with a net run rate of +2.791. England's team is in second place with five points from four matches and a net run rate of +3.611. Scotland missed out on qualifying due to their net run rate, despite also having five points. Their net run rate stands at +1.255. Two teams from this group, Namibia and Oman, had already been eliminated from the Super-8 race.
Australia's Five-Wicket Victory
In the 35th match played at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Scotland opted to bat first after losing the toss and posted a total of 180 runs for five wickets in 20 overs, thanks to Brendan McMullen's half-century. In response, Australia chased down the target of 181 runs in 19.4 overs with a score of 186 for five wickets, winning the match by five wickets.

The team suffered its first setback at a score of two runs when Brad Wheal had David Warner caught by Richie Berrington for just one run. Mitchell Marsh, who came in at number three, was dismissed for eight runs, and Glenn Maxwell failed again, scoring 11 runs off eight balls. With three wickets down for 60 runs, Australia needed a significant partnership. Travis Head and Marcus Stoinis rose to the occasion, forming an 80-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Safyaan Sharif broke this partnership in the 16th over, dismissing Head for 68 runs off 49 balls, which included five fours and four sixes. Stoinis was dismissed for 59 runs off 29 balls, with a strike rate of 203.44, including nine fours and two sixes. Tim David and Matthew Wade then took charge, leading the team to victory with two balls to spare. David remained unbeaten on 14, and Wade on four.
