Team India has been announced for the West Indies series. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has been given a place in the Indian Test team and ODI team. Mukesh Kumar is a resident of Kakarkund in Gopalganj district of Bihar. Born in a poor family, Mukesh Kumar's father used to drive an auto in Kolkata to support the family, Mukesh used to play cricket since childhood and also played under-19 cricket for Bihar. However, seeing the financial condition of the house, the father called him for a job in Kolkata. Even after coming to Kolkata, Mukesh continued to play cricket.
In Kolkata, Mukesh Kumar also tried for a job in the army, but he could not clear the medical test. Due to money, he started playing in Kolkata's private club for 500 rupees per match. In 2014, he joined the Bengal Cricket Association's trial, where coach Ranadeb Bose recognized his talent. In 2015, he made his debut for Bengal for the first time. In the year 2022, he got the opportunity to be a part of Team India A team for the first time in the year 2022 after a brilliant performance in first class cricket. In the year 2023, he was selected in the T20 series against Sri Lanka, but he could not get a chance to debut.
Team India's journey is quite emotional:
Mukesh Kumar was fond of playing cricket since childhood. He used to play cricket in the streets and fields of the village. For which he used to get scolded by the family members. He was told to focus on studies. His uncle used to beat him for this too. The financial condition of his family was not good. That's why there was always pressure on him to do a job.
Mukesh Kumar had said in an interview that I got my name enrolled in a cricket club in Kolkata, during this I also got hurt, then my father told me that how long will this continue, 1 year has passed, after that I asked my father for 1 year. I asked for more time and in this one year I worked hard and got selected in the Ranji team.
Mukesh's father's dream was to see him playing for Team India, but in the year 2019, Mukesh's father died of a brain stroke. Even after this, Mukesh did not lose courage and continued his hard work. Mukesh Kumar is a part of Delhi Capitals in IPL and the team had made an expensive bid on him.
