Jhulan Goswami's Legacy to Be Immortalized at Eden Gardens
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has proposed naming a stand at the iconic Eden Gardens after former Indian women’s cricket legend Jhulan Goswami. The B Block of Eden Gardens will soon bear her name, honoring her unparalleled contribution to cricket. The official unveiling of this stand is expected to take place on January 22, 2025, during the India-England T20 match.
Record-Breaking Career of Jhulan Goswami
Jhulan Goswami is regarded as one of the greatest female cricketers of all time. She played 12 Test matches, taking 44 wickets, 204 ODIs with 255 wickets, and 68 T20Is with 56 dismissals. Her 355 international wickets make her the highest wicket-taker among women cricketers in international cricket history.
Eden Gardens’ Elite List of Stands
With the addition of Jhulan Goswami’s name, Eden Gardens joins the league of honoring cricketing legends. Currently, the venue has stands named after former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, the late Pankaj Roy, former BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, and Vishwanath Dutt.
