In a much-needed victory for Pakistan after suffering defeats in two consecutive matches, Mohammad Rizwan's unbeaten 53 runs guided the team to their first win in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, during this match, Rizwan also recorded the slowest fifty in T20 World Cup history, taking 52 balls to reach the milestone.

Pakistan's First Victory

The 22nd match of the T20 World Cup 2024 between Pakistan and Canada was held in New York on June 11. After losing the toss, Canada batted first and scored 106 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs, thanks to a half-century from Aaron Johnson. In response, Pakistan chased down the target in 17.3 overs, scoring 107 runs for three wickets, securing the win with 15 balls to spare. This victory moved Pakistan to third place in Group A's points table with two points and improved their net run rate to +0.191.

Rizwan's Embarrassing Record

Mohammad Rizwan's half-century took 52 balls, the slowest in T20 World Cup history. The previous slowest fifty was scored by David Miller, who took 50 balls earlier in the same tournament.

Equaling Rohit's Record
