The ICC has announced an elite commentary panel for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held next month in the USA and West Indies. Renowned players and commentators from around the world will provide their insights and analysis throughout the tournament.
Commentary Panel Details
The commentary panel includes prominent Indian figures such as Dinesh Karthik and Ravi Shastri. Karthik, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2024 season, expressed his excitement about being part of the panel.
Karthik's Enthusiasm
Karthik remarked to the ICC, "In many ways, this tournament is quite different, making it even more attractive. With 20 teams, 55 matches, and some new venues, it's going to be amazing, and I am very excited to be a part of it. Being part of such a high-level commentary panel is a fantastic feeling, and talking about the players I've recently played with will be quite interesting."
Other Indian Commentators
Alongside Karthik and Shastri, other Indian commentators include Harsha Bhogle and Sunil Gavaskar. Both Gavaskar and Shastri have also been commentating in IPL 2024.
International Commentary Team
The panel features former England captain Nasser Hussain, Ian Bishop, and Mel Jones. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 will see some of the biggest names in cricket and broadcasting gather to provide expert analysis and commentary.
Global Cricket Experts
Several former players and World Cup winners will serve as experts during the tournament. This includes Ebony Rainford-Brent, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, Aaron Finch, and Lisa Sthalekar. Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, Rameez Raja, Eoin Morgan, Tom Moody, and Wasim Akram will also be part of the expert team. American commentator Jamie O'Brien will make his World Cup debut, joined by Dale Steyn, Graeme Smith, Michael Atherton, Waqar Younis, Simon Doull, Shaun Pollock, and Katie Martin.
