The IPL 2024 season has been unprecedented, with records that will be hard to break in the future. These include the most sixes in a T20 match, the highest score, the largest chase, and the most 200+ scores in a season.

 

KKR Clinch Title

The IPL 2024 season concluded with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in the final. Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, KKR won their third title, their last being in the 2014 season. This year's award ceremony was special as the BCCI introduced a new "Pitch and Ground Award," which was won by the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, earning a prize of ₹50 lakh.

 

Prize Money Distribution

As in the past two years, the IPL winning team received ₹20 crore. The runners-up, Sunrisers Hyderabad, received ₹12.5 crore, the same amount as last year.
