Chennai Super Kings' former captain MS Dhoni is poised to achieve a significant milestone in the upcoming match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. If Dhoni manages to score six runs against Hyderabad, he will complete 5000 runs for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL, matching the feat achieved by Suresh Raina.
In the recent match against Delhi Capitals, Dhoni impressed everyone with his batting prowess while chasing the target. Coming in at number eight, Dhoni played a crucial innings of 31 runs off 17 balls against Delhi Capitals. Although his innings couldn't secure a win for CSK, it showcased Dhoni's ability to impact the game with his batting.
Dhoni's upcoming achievement of reaching 5000 runs for CSK will place him alongside Suresh Raina, who achieved this milestone during his tenure with the team from 2008 to 2021. Raina, who played 200 matches for CSK, scored 5529 runs at an average of 33.1, including two centuries and 38 half-centuries. Currently, Raina remains the only player to have scored more than 5000 runs for CSK.
