Pakistan's previous encounters on Indian soil were during the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final in Mohali, where they faced India and were unable to secure a win. The memorable match saw Sachin Tendulkar's splendid knock of 85 runs. Before that, in 1996, at Bangalore's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Pakistan faced India and suffered a defeat, courtesy of a fiery spell by Venkatesh Prasad.

In the recent contest, both teams saw all ten wickets fall during their respective innings. The Netherlands, led by captain Scott Edwards, won the toss and chose to field. Pakistan managed to score 286 runs in 49 overs. In response, the Netherlands was bowled out for 205 runs in 41 overs.

For Pakistan, Saud Shakeel, who scored a crucial half-century, was named the Player of the Match. As for the upcoming matches, the Netherlands will play against New Zealand on October 9 at the same venue. Meanwhile, Pakistan is scheduled to face Sri Lanka the following day at the same location.

In the match, five Netherlands batsmen managed to cross the double-digit mark. Bas de Leede was the highest run-scorer with 67 runs, including six boundaries and two sixes. Opener Vikramjit Singh contributed 52 runs from 67 deliveries, while Logan van Beek scored 28 runs off 28 balls. Colin Ackermann added 17 runs to the total, while Saqib Zulfiqar chipped in with 10 runs. Haris Rauf was the most successful bowler for Pakistan, taking three wickets, while Hasan Ali claimed two wickets. Shaheen Afridi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz secured one wicket each.

Before that, for Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel contributed with scores of 68 runs each. Mohammad Nawaz scored 39, and Shadab Khan contributed 32 runs. Haris Rauf scored 16, Imam-ul-Haq added 15, Shaheen Afridi couldn't open his account, and Fakhar Zaman made 12 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed scored nine runs, while Babar Azam managed only five runs. Hasan Ali did not have the chance to bat. As for the Netherlands, Bas de Leede took the most wickets, capturing four Pakistani wickets. Colin Ackermann took two wickets, while Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek, and Paul van Meekeren secured one wicket each.
