Actually, this black band has been tied by the players of both the teams to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the train accident in Balasore, Odisha. 

n fact, a horrific train accident took place in Odisha's Balasore district on June 2 i.e. Friday. Here, three trains collided with each other near Bahnaga railway station. 278 people died in this accident, while more than 900 passengers were injured. The collision took place between Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Express and a goods train. However, now the situation has been restored. The injured are being treated in the hospital. Expressing condolences for this incident, the players of India and Australia have tied black arm bands. Before the start of the match, both the teams observed a two-minute silence for those who lost their lives in the accident.

Talking about the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. Team India has reached the final of the World Test Championship for the second time in a row. New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets in the final of the first edition played in 2021. At the same time, the Australian team is playing the final of the World Test Championship for the first time.

During the toss, Captain Rohit said – We are going to bowl first. We are taking this decision because of the overcast condition. I don't think the pitch will change much. You have to play good cricket and come out on top. Four fast bowlers and one spinner have been included in the team. Jadeja is playing and Ashwin has not been included. It is always difficult to keep Ashwin out of the team. He has been a match-winner for us over the years, but you have to do things that are important for the team and eventually we came to that decision. Rahane has brought a lot of experience. He has played more than 80 Test matches and has done well for the team. 

What did Pat Cummins say at the time of the toss?

At the same time, Australian captain Pat Cummins said – We would have bowled first too. I don't think it makes much difference. The ball is expected to spin a bit on the fourth and fifth day. This wicket suits the bowling of Scott Boland. He is capable of bowling at one spot for the whole day. There is little grass on this wicket and Boland will be our key weapon. We have been here for about 10 days and know the conditions very well.
