IPL is over. Now the players of India and Australia have started preparing for the World Test Championship final, which will be played at the Oval in London from June 7 this month. Team India will play the WTC final for the second time in a row and the Australian team for the first time. India had to face defeat against New Zealand in the final of the first edition of this championship played in 2021. The final is to be held in England where the pitches are more suitable for Australia. However, India's recent record in England has been excellent. In such a situation, the challenge for Australia is not going to be easy.

Virat-Smith will be face to face once again

In this title match, two of the famous players known as the current Favorite-Four (FAV-4) will be face to face. Where Virat Kohli was the captain of Team India in 2021, this time he will be seen playing the role of the main batsman of the team. At the same time, Steve Smith will try to maintain his excellent record in Tests. Talking about the record of both the players in Tests in England, Steve Smith has been better than Kohli in every respect.

Record of both players in England
Virat has so far scored 1033 runs in 31 innings at an average of 33.32 in Tests in England. These include five fifties and two fifties. 149 runs has been Virat's best score in Tests in England. Not only this, Virat has also been dismissed for zero four times there. At the same time, compared to Smith, the Australian vice-captain has scored 1727 runs in 30 innings in England at an excellent average of 59.55. These include seven half-centuries and six centuries. That is, Smith has scored three times more centuries than Kohli.

Overall record of both players in Test

Smith's best score in Tests in England is 215. Smith has never been dismissed for a duck in Tests in England. This means India need to avoid Smith there. Talking about the overall Test record of both, Virat has so far scored 8416 runs in 108 matches at an average of 48.93. These include 28 half-centuries and 28 centuries. Virat's highest score has been 254 not out. At the same time, Smith has so far scored 8792 runs in 96 Tests at an average of 59.81. These include 37 half-centuries and 30 centuries. Smith's highest score has been 239 runs.

Kohli and Smith's record at Oval
Kohli has scored 169 runs at an average of 28.16 in three Tests at the Oval ground in London. This includes only one half-century. At the same time, Smith has scored 391 runs in three Tests at the Oval at an average of 97.75. This includes two centuries and a half-century.

The last World Test Championship final was played in June 2021. Talking about the Test record of both since then, Smith has scored 1252 runs in 30 innings of 19 Tests at an average of 50.08 during this period. During this, he scored six half-centuries and three centuries. At the same time, Kohli has scored just 869 runs in 28 innings of 16 Tests at an average of 32.18. These include three half-centuries and one century. Kohli ended the drought of centuries in the Ahmedabad Test against Australia this year.

Since November 2019, till March this year, no century had come from his bat in Tests. However, he made a tremendous comeback with an innings of 186 against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in March. In the previous final of the WTC in 2021 against New Zealand, Virat scored 44 in the first innings and 13 in the second innings. In the final of the World Test Championship, once again an interesting competition can be seen between the two. Both would leave no stone unturned to make their teams champions.
