India is gearing up to face West Indies in a series across all three formats - T20I, ODI, and Test - starting from July 12. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced India's squads for the 50-over and Test matches, including promising young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar who received their national call-up.

While the BCCI is yet to reveal the T20I squad, reports in the Times of India suggest that Rinku Singh, the Kolkata Knight Riders star, is set to make his debut in the 20-over format for India. Rinku had an impressive performance in the recently concluded domestic season, scoring 474 runs in 14 games at an average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.52. He gained overnight fame when he smashed 67 runs off 33 balls and hit five consecutive sixes in a thrilling match where his team, Yash Dayal, secured a remarkable victory against the Gujarat Titans.

Hardik Pandya, India's star all-rounder, will continue as the captain of the T20I side for the series against West Indies, with senior players opting out of the team. Pandya has been leading Team India in the T20I format since the 2022 T20 World Cup. According to reports on Cricbuzz, Pandya will lead the side without the inclusion of senior players who have not played a T20I match since the 2022 World Cup.

In other news, former head coach of India, Ravi Shastri, has expressed his opinion that Rohit Sharma should lead the Indian team in the upcoming World Cup, but Pandya should take over the ODI captaincy after the tournament, particularly when playing at home. Shastri stated to The Week, "After the World Cup, I feel he should take over captaincy in white-ball cricket. Rohit should lead India in the World Cup, no question there."

In summary, India is preparing to face West Indies in a series across all formats, with the inclusion of promising young players. Rinku Singh is expected to make his debut in the T20I format, while Hardik Pandya will continue as the captain. Additionally, Ravi Shastri has advocated for Rohit Sharma to lead India in the World Cup, with Pandya assuming the ODI captaincy afterward.
