When chairman Greg Barclay visited Karachi to meet PCB chairman Najam Sethi, it was decided that Pakistan would not put any conditions to play in the World Cup in India, provided four matches of the Asia Cup were held in Pakistan. . Because, PCB has the right to host this tournament.

There will also be a third match if both the teams reach the finals. Matches between these two countries earn heavily for the broadcasters and if Pakistan did not play, the cost of media rights for the Asia Cup would have been halved and this would have caused huge losses to the ACC. In such a situation, the way for Pakistan to play in the ODI World Cup has been cleared with the introduction of the hybrid model. India and Pakistan match in World Cup can be held in Ahmedabad. At the same time, the remaining matches of Pakistan can be held in Chennai and Hyderabad.
