Suryakumar Yadav scored his first century in IPL, joined the special club of Sachin-Jayasurya and Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians explosive batsman Suryakumar Yadav has scored his first century in IPL. Suryakumar scored an unbeaten 103 against Gujarat Titans on Friday (May 12) at the Wankhede Stadium. He hit 11 fours and six sixes in his innings of 49. During this his strike rate was 210.20. Suryakumar set many records in his century innings.

He is the fifth batsman. He has joined the elite club of batting great Sachin Tendulkar and former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya as well as current Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma. Apart from these three veterans, Lendl Simmons of West Indies has also scored a century for Mumbai Indians.

Suryakumar surpasses even Rituraj

Suryakumar became the first batsman to score a century against Gujarat Titans. His highest score is against Gujarat. He has left behind the runs of Chennai Super Kings opener Rituraj Gaikwad. Rituraj played an inning of 92 runs in Ahmedabad this year. Jos Buttler of Rajasthan Royals scored 89 runs in Kolkata last year. At the same time, Venkatesh Iyer of Kolkata Knight Riders played an inning of 83 runs in Ahmedabad this season.

Fourth century in this season

Suryakumar Yadav is the fourth batsman to score a century in the current season of IPL. Before him, Harry Brook of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Venkatesh Iyer of Kolkata Knight Riders and Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals have scored centuries.
