Legendary India batsman Ravi Shastri has revealed the names of young batsmen who have impressed him during the ongoing IPL. Shastri believes that these players have the ability to be a part of Team India for this year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. India's top order is already strong. The team has excellent batsmen in the form of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. Despite this, Shastri feels that this IPL has yielded some young players who can provide strength to the team in ODIs if any player is injured.
Ravi Shastri has named Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals and Rinku Singh of Kolkata Knight Riders. Yashasvi, a young left-handed batsman, has scored 575 runs in the IPL so far this season for Rajasthan Royals with the help of a century and four fifties, while Rinku has scored 407 runs in 13 matches with three fifties and an average above 50. . Rinku's five consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans at the start of the tournament caught Shastri's attention.
Shastri believes that both Yashasvi and Rinku are capable of making big changes in international cricket in the future. He said- The way Yashasvi has played this season, he has improved a lot as compared to last year, which is a very positive sign. It shows that there is a young man who is ready to work on his game. He is trying to sort things out and has impressed with his all-round performances this season. The power with which he is playing the shots, it is better than last year.
Shastri said- The other player is Rinku Singh, whose story is fantastic. The more I look at him, the guy has a great temperament. He is a strong minded player. Yashasvi and Rinku both come from very difficult backgrounds. He has done a lot of work. His life was initially difficult and nothing has come easy to him. The hunger, the passion, the drive you see, that's very important to make it to the top.
Shastri believes India's bowling attack is well set ahead of this year's World Cup. However, he said that there are some young batsmen who can make a place in the team with their talent. According to Shastri, as far as batting is concerned, Tilak Verma from Mumbai Indians (274 runs at an average of 45.66 in nine matches), Jitesh Sharma from Punjab Kings (265 runs at an average of 22.08 and a strike rate of more than 155) The performance has been stupendous. After the IPL, these players can stake claim for the World Cup.
