Today in the final of IPL 2023, defending champions Gujarat Titans face four-time champions Chennai Super Kings. This match was to be played on Sunday only. However, the day of May 28 was washed away due to rain. Now this match is being played on reserve-day i.e. today. Even the toss could not be done on Sunday due to rain. On Monday, Chennai captain Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Gujarat scored 214 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs.
Batting brilliantly, Gujarat Titans scored 214 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. This is the biggest score in IPL final. Earlier in 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 208 for seven in 20 overs in the 2016 IPL final. Chennai will have to chase record runs to become IPL champions for the fifth time.
Earlier, 200 runs were chased only once in the IPL final. In the year 2014, Kolkata chased 200 runs against Punjab in the final. A score higher than this has never been chased. Sai Sudarshan played a brilliant inning for Gujarat. He missed out on a century and was dismissed for 96 off 47 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes.

Shubman was stumped by Mahendra Singh Dhoni off Ravindra Jadeja in the seventh over. He could score 39 runs in 20 balls. This includes seven fours. After this, Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudarshan shared a 64-run partnership for the second wicket. Meanwhile, Saha completed his half-century. He was caught by Deepak Chahar at the hands of Dhoni. Rashid was caught by Pathirana Rituraj Gaikwad on the last ball of the innings. He could not even open an account. Hardik remained unbeaten on 21 runs in 12 balls with the help of two sixes. Pathirana took two wickets from Chennai. There itself, Deepak Chahar and Jadeja got one wicket each. Tushar Deshpande proved to be very expensive. He looted 56 runs in four overs.
