Only Chennai bid on Rahane
In the last IPL auction, Chennai Super Kings was the only team to bid on Ajinkya Rahane. Dhoni's team bought him at a base price of Rs 50 lakh. Rahane justified the faith of Chennai.

He said, "The turning point is that I am getting a
chance to play. I was very happy when Chennai picked me. They gave me an opportunity to play and show my abilities." Targeting both the Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders franchise without naming them, he said, "If you see, a year or two back I was not getting opportunities to play and you don't play matches then how will you show who you have." If you are not playing consistently then you cannot show them your strokemaking. 

Rahane was asked if this brilliant innings was an answer to his being ignored in Kolkata Knight Riders, the batsman said, "You guys have to decide that." For me, doing well for CSK is all that matters."
