ODI World Cup is to be played in India in October-November this year. All the teams have started preparing for it. Before the IPL, India played an ODI series against Australia, in which Team India had to face a 2-1 defeat. In the recent past, India has suffered a lot due to injuries to its players. In such a situation, many former cricketers say that the players fixed for the World Cup should take rest from tournaments like IPL, so that they can remain fresh for international matches. However, Indian captain Rohit has given contrary statements. Captain Rohit does not think that any player will stay away from IPL to manage the workload. The world's biggest T20 league is going to start from 31 March.

The number of injured players increased in the Indian team

From Jasprit Bumrah to Shreyas Iyer, the players in the Indian team are on the rise. Despite this, Rohit said that the onus is on the IPL franchise owners and the players themselves to manage the workload ahead of the ODI World Cup in October-November. Rohit also lost the series 2-1 after losing the third ODI against Australia by 21 runs on Wednesday. He said – this is a matter of concern. We are missing players who are actually playing-11 players.

India will get less time to prepare for WTC final

Rohit said – all the players have a lot of experience. So he has to take care of his body and if he feels that it is not happening, he can always talk about it and take a break for a game or two in the IPL. However, I doubt (if) that this will happen but…. After this Rohit became silent. After the IPL, which ends on May 28, the Indian players also have to play the final of the World Test Championship at The Oval from June 7. Team India will get less than a week to prepare for this.

Workload management hints to the franchisee

Rohit said the Indian team management has given 'signals' to the IPL franchise owners regarding workload management of players keeping in mind the 50-over tournament. Rohit said- It all depends on the franchisee now. Franchises now pick them (players), so we have given some pointers to the teams. However, the final call rests with the franchise and most importantly, the players have to take care of their bodies.

What did Rohit say about the injury of the players

Bumrah missed the entire India-Australia series, while Iyer suffered a back injury during the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad. He did not play in the subsequent three ODIs. Rohit said- To be honest, everyone is trying their best to give everyone a chance. We are paying a lot of attention to player management, so we will have to rest some players at certain times.

Rohit said- From our side we are trying our best, but I am not an expert to tell you why injuries are coming again and again. Our medical team is looking after all of them and making sure that we have our best 15 players ready for the World Cup. Shreyas Iyer has already struggled with a back injury in December. He then missed the ODI series against New Zealand at home and the opening Test against Australia.

Rohit said- Obviously when you play so much cricket then it is certain to get hurt. So don't focus too much on what is available with you. You see what's in your hands, you can control that and we're just trying to control all of that. Injured players are also disappointed. They want to play, they don't want to miss. So it's a bit sad, but there's really nothing you can do.

What did Rohit say on Shreyas's injury

Rohit said that the medical team is doing everything possible for the good health of the players. I can see and I can confirm that the people working behind the scenes are working really hard with all these players. Injuries can happen anytime, Shreyas (Iyer) is the best example. He sat all day and as soon as he went to practice, he got hurt. Nothing you can do about it, the only thing we can keep in mind is managing the players and giving them enough breaks.

Rohit's statement on Suryakumar's poor form

Suryakumar Yadav in ODIs is a non-negotiable: Dinesh Karthik | Sports News,The Indian Express

India captain Rohit Sharma admitted that Suryakumar is going through a bad phase, but also supported Surya. Rohit said- He played only three balls in three matches in this series. I don't know how much to care about this. To be honest, he played three good balls. He knows what he has to do. He plays spin very well. We've seen over the years. So we kept him in the team in the third ODI and gave him a role for the last 15-20 overs where he could play his game, but that didn't happen. It can happen to anyone.
