Hours after making India number one in all three formats, the International Cricket Council has taken a U-turn. The ICC on Wednesday gave India the number one position in Tests. India is already number one in ODIs and T20s. In such a situation, Team India had reached the first place in all three formats. Now the ICC has again updated it and has removed India from the first place in the test to the second place. The Australian team has become the number one team despite the defeat in the first test.

With the victory in the first Test over Australia, the Indian team became the number one team in the Test rankings. In the ICC update on Wednesday morning, then-toppers India had 115 rating points, while second-ranked Australia had 111 rating points. Now after the update again, the Australian team has reached the top with 126 rating points. At the same time, India's rating points are 115. This has created huge confusion among the fans. According to Wisden India's tweet, India became number one in the Test at 1.30 pm on Wednesday. After this, at 7.30 pm on Wednesday, the ICC snatched the top spot in the Test from India and handed it over to Australia. That is, for just six hours, the Indian team was on top in all three formats.
A similar mistake happened last month as well. On January 18 also, the ICC made a similar big mistake in the rankings. India was declared the number-one Test team on its official website around 1.30 pm. After two and a half hours i.e. around 4 o'clock, India was removed from the top position to the second position. Australia had again become the number one Test team. Even then no official statement was issued on the huge lapse in ICC rankings.
Fans are criticizing the council on this big lapse of ICC. Due to the big mistake of ICC, the Indian team reached the top in all three formats at the same time, even for a short time, but for the first time. Earlier in 2014, the South African team was at the first place in all three formats at the same time. However, the ICC has taken away the medal from India. Strong reactions of fans are coming to the fore on social media.

England are only one rating point behind him. He is on the second position with 266 rating points.
