India beat Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. With this, Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. In this match, Australia scored 177 runs in the first innings. At the same time, this team was reduced to 91 runs in the second innings. India scored 400 runs in the first innings and this was heavy on the Kangaroo team. Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets in the first innings and two wickets in the second innings, scoring 70 runs in this match.

With this victory, the way for the Indian team to reach the final of the World Test Championship has become easier. Now Team India has to win two out of the remaining three matches of the series and India will easily reach the finals. If they win one match, India will need the support of luck to reach the final.

The number one team took a knee
Australia, the number one team of Tests, was already scared of spin bowling before this series and in the match it was the spin bowlers who destroyed Australia's fleet. In the second innings, the Australian team was all out in one session. In the second session of the third day in Nagpur, Australia played 32.3 overs and the entire team was dismissed after scoring 91 runs. At the same time, on the third day itself, Australia wasted 79 runs in taking India's last three wickets in the first session. Of these, 37 runs were scored by Mohammed Shami, while Steve Smith scored the maximum 25 runs in the second innings for Australia. Australia had kneeled before the start of the match. For this reason, the kangaroo batsmen could neither play the spin bowlers nor the fast bowlers. In the first innings, it was Shami and Siraj who sent Australia's opening pair to the pavilion on a score of two runs.

What happened in the match?
Australia won the toss and decided to bat first, but Mohammed Siraj and Shami got off to a great start for India. On the score of two runs, both the openers of the Kangaroo team had returned to the pavilion. After this, Smith and Labushen took care of the team with a great partnership and did not let any wicket fall till lunch. India got two wickets in the first session and Australia scored 76 runs.

In the third session, Jadeja dismissed Peter Handscomb for 31 and took five wickets in an innings for the 11th time in Test cricket. After this, Ashwin dismissed Scott Boland and ended Australia's innings for 177 runs. After this, the opening pair of captain Rohit Sharma and Lokesh Rahul gave India a great start. Both of them added 76 runs for the first wicket. Before the end of the first day's play, Rahul was dismissed by Todd Murphy after scoring 20 runs.
