New Zealand decided to bat first in this match played at Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. He scored 99 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In response, India won the match by scoring 101 runs for the loss of four wickets in 19.5 overs. After the match, Indian captain Hardik Pandya looked disappointed with the Lucknow pitch. He said that it is not fit for T20 cricket.
