A Remarkable Career
Guptill, who debuted in 2009, played 367 matches across formats for New Zealand. One of the most talented limited-overs players for his country, Guptill scored 7,346 runs in 198 ODIs, including 18 centuries and 39 half-centuries. In T20Is, he amassed 3,531 runs in 122 matches, featuring two centuries and 20 half-centuries.
A Memorable Debut
Guptill is the first New Zealand batter to score a century on his ODI debut. He achieved this feat in 2009 against the West Indies. Later that year, he earned a spot in the ICC ODI Team of the Year.
Iconic Performances
Guptill delivered some unforgettable performances in his career, including:
- 2015 World Cup: A record-breaking 237* against West Indies in the quarterfinals, which remains the highest individual score in World Cup history and the first double-century by a New Zealander in ODIs.
