The Indian women's team delivered strong performances in the ODI series and the sole Test match against South Africa. However, they lost the first T20 match and the second match was washed out due to rain. Currently trailing 0-1 in the series, the Indian team must win the third T20 match on Tuesday to level the series.
Weather Concerns:
Rain remains a potential disruptor, with a 30-40% chance of precipitation on Tuesday. The Indian bowlers will need to improve their performance, having conceded 189 runs for 9 wickets in the first match and 177 runs for 6 wickets in the rain-affected second match.
Key Players:
Pooja Vastrakar and spinner Deepti Sharma have been effective, each taking two wickets in the previous matches. However, other bowlers like Renuka Singh, Sajin Sajana, Shreyanka Patil, and Radha Yadav have struggled to contain runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will be looking for a stronger effort from her bowlers with the series at stake.
Batting Performance:
Indian batters have shown promise. Jemimah Rodrigues (unbeaten 53), Smriti Mandhana (46), Harmanpreet Kaur (35), Shafali Verma (18), and Dayalan Hemalatha (14) all contributed well with the bat. Wicketkeeper Uma Chetri, who made her T20 debut on Sunday, is expected to retain her place, and the team management will be keen to see her contribute with the bat.
South Africa's Form:
For South Africa, Tazmin Brits has been in excellent form, scoring consecutive half-centuries. Alongside her, captain Laura Wolvaardt, Marizanne Kapp, and Anneke Bosch have also scored quickly. The only concern for South Africa is Chloe Tryon, who is returning from injury and has yet to make an impact.
