In a recent revelation, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag shed light on MS Dhoni's superstition during the victorious 2011 ODI World Cup campaign hosted in India. The tournament marked India's second ODI World Cup triumph, following their iconic victory under Kapil Dev's leadership in 1983. Sehwag disclosed that Dhoni had a peculiar superstition of consuming 'khichdi' (a traditional Indian dish) throughout the World Cup.
Sehwag stated, "Everyone had their own superstitions, and Dhoni's was to have 'khichdi' consistently throughout the World Cup." He further added, "Dhoni used to believe that even if he wasn't scoring runs, as long as this superstition prevailed and the team was winning matches, it was working."
In other news, the venue and schedule for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 have been officially announced. The tournament will commence with the opening match between England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.
