Three players of Team India injured before Test Championship final, BCCI told how long they will be fit

The second final of the Test Championship is to be held between India and Australia. Team India has reached the final of the World Test Championship for the second time in a row. However, the Indian team is in trouble ahead of the title battle. Three important players of the Indian Test team are injured. These include Lokesh Rahul, Jaydev Unadkat and Umesh Yadav. BCCI has given an update on the injury of these three players.

Lokesh Rahul's injury, the BCCI said in its media release, "On May 1, KL Rahul suffered a right thigh injury while fielding during the 43rd match of Tata IPL 2023 between Lucknow Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore." After consultation with specialists, it has been decided that Rahul will undergo surgery at the earliest and rehabilitate at the National Cricket Academy for the same. He has been ruled out of the final of the upcoming ICC World Test Championship against Australia." Ishaan Kishan has been included in the Indian team in place of Rahul.

No decision yet on Unadkat's playing

On Jaydev Unadkat's injury, BCCI said "Jayadev Unadkat's leg got caught in the rope while bowling in the nets and he fell and injured his left shoulder. Expert consultation has been sought on his injury." And the left-arm seamer is currently at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru undergoing strength and rehab sessions for his shoulder. A decision on his playing in the Test Championship final will be taken later."

Umesh Yadav to play against Australia

BCCI wrote on Umesh Yadav's injury "Umesh Yadav has suffered a minor hamstring problem in his left leg during the 36th match of Tata IPL 2023 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders on 26th April. Fast bowler current "I am under the supervision of the KKR medical team and have started low-intensity bowling as part of their rehab process. The BCCI medical team is in regular touch with the KKR medical team and is closely monitoring Umesh's progress."
