PBKS vs LSG : Lucknow batsmen scored runs, target of 258 runs to win Punjab

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) got off to a sensational start as Kyle Mayers smashed a blistering half-century in just 20 balls during their Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter against Punjab Kings. Mayers' stunning knock set the tone for LSG's innings and was continued by the likes of Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran. Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan, who had recently recovered from an injury, won the toss and opted to bowl.

Mayers' innings finally came to an end when he was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada on 54 off 24 balls. However, the carnage continued as Badoni and Stoinis put up a 50-run partnership in just 26 balls. Badoni was eventually dismissed on 43 off 24, but Pooran picked up where he left off, hitting three fours off the first three balls he faced. LSG raced past the 200-run mark in just 16 overs, and it appeared for a while that they might surpass the highest ever score in the IPL.

However, Stoinis' dismissal on 72 off 40 slowed LSG's momentum, and Pooran also fell in the last over for 45 off 19. In the end, LSG reached a formidable total of 257/5 in their allotted 20 overs, which is the second-highest score of all time in IPL history.

LSG's dominant batting display left Punjab Kings with a daunting task in their chase, and although they put up a valiant effort, they fell well short of the target. The victory will give LSG a massive boost in their bid for a playoff spot, while Punjab Kings will have to regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
